Jeremyville series turns your day around
Art has the ability to spur a different way of thinking, provoke a new worldview or simply make you smile. The Community Service Announcement series from Australian illustrator Jeremyville will do all of that simultaneously.
Australian-raised, New York-based illustrator Jeremyville spent his childhood playing with Lego and sea monkeys in the sun-drenched streets of Bondi, but these days you’re more likely to find him sketching by moonlight in The Big Apple. The artist, product designer and author has featured in group shows at the Andy Warhol Museum in New York and even inspired two special-release styles of Converse Chuck Taylor high-tops.
With the motto ‘art for everyone’ guiding his every move, the sketcher has released an uplifting series of designs, which have been transformed into prints, stickers, skatedecks, tees and street art paste-ups around the world. The Community Service Announcement series started life on the pages of Jeremyville’s sketchbook whenever he felt inspired to pen notes of inspiration or motivation, but he soon began sharing them online as a way of forging a daily connection with the community. With around 600 designs released so far, the results are sure to serve as heartening happiness hits when you’re stuck in your office cubicle or a temporary life rut. Peruse the prints online or check out Jeremyville’s Facebook page for a daily dose of inspiration.
