Try rebellious on for size with Jamie Fame

Melding an anti-establishment spirit with the essence of 1980s post-punk and early heavy metal, Jamie Fame creates distinctive garments for the rebellious dresser.

Having launched the label four years ago, designer Brad Pengelly translated his obsession with punk rock, heavy metal and grunge bands into the fashionscape, with surfing and skating also influencing the Sunshine Coast-based brand’s aesthetic. Originally focusing solely on menswear, Jamie Fame turned its attention to include the fairer of genders last year when Brad noticed a desire for smaller-sized jackets amongst orders.

The latest collection for spring 2013, dubbed Causes Without Rebels, harnesses the luxe-grunge look through dark tones, rich fabrics and studded patterns. Inspired by fire, wilted gardens and catacombs, the collection adds a hard edge to streetwear this season across its threads for both gents and gentleladies. Keep an eye out for a Californian connection later in the year.
