House of Cards releases second collection Lagoon Lovers

While a desire to be donned in 1960s mini dresses has been at the forefront of our mostly unfulfilled fashion desires of late, our mind has started to drift forward a decade, becoming rather smitten with the idea of sporting high-waisted bell-bottoms and skivvies.

Lagoon Lovers is the autumn/winter offering from Brisbane label House of Cards, delivering a contemporary take on 1970s dressing. Designed by local lass Ashiya Omundsen, House of Cards turned heads in its first collection, with a refined selection of cute prints and cuts across a mesh of sorbet-toned and bright shades. In this second collection, Ashiya continues to contrast pastels of sky blue, lilac and mint with bold mustard and burgundy.

Exaggerated collars and skirts add structure to the collection, while jersey tees and skivvy dresses offer a relaxed element. The beloved kitsch plastic flamingo adorns one skivvy dress, perfect for lounging about at a garden party. Incorporating outerwear for the cooler seasons, House of Cards has also designed a cape coat and open jacket, as well as limited-make velcro-strapped platforms. The collection is currently available online, with a second drop expected in March.
