Discover the geometric adornment of Holly Howe Collections

From Dunedin on New Zealand’s south island comes Holly Howe Collections – a jewellery label that is sharp-edged and architectural, and doesn’t favour either of the sexes.

Since forming last year, Holly Howe Collections has blossomed in its native country, as well as found a hungry audience across the shores in Australia. Perhaps it’s because, as the designer of a unisex brand, Holly Simpson-Howe creates pieces that don’t particularly fall into either gender category. In contrast to traditional women’s jewellery that is flouncy and delicate, Holly instead dreams up slick, geometric designs.

Embracing the medium of silver, each creation forms a multi-faceted shape, with sharp-edged squares and pyramids featuring on chunky rings and long, loose pendants. This kind of modernist jewellery suits many styles – minimalists can embrace a single piece, while those who enjoy excess can adorn their body with layer upon layer of Holly’s creations.

Holly’s latest release is the collection for autumn/winter 2012, Shadowplay. The range is a combination of futuristic rings and necklaces, which incorporate variations on triangles, worn with tight straps of leather. Holly Howe Collections is available in Brisbane at Black Anchor Collective in New Farm.
