Isn’t it just a true delight when a label that you thought you couldn’t love any more gets better somehow? Back in 2014, an Australian brand called Her captured our hearts with its stunning swimwear and has kept us interested with every collection since. It comes as no surprise that the label’s decision to expand its offering to clothing left us absolutely giddy with excitement. When the newly minted Her Line dropped its debut womenswear collection in the form of Resort 2018, it definitely didn’t disappoint.
The name change to Her Line coinciding with the release of Resort 2018 signals a new era for the brand, heralding its arrival on the womenswear scene as well as its stylistic growth. Founded by Tuyen Nguyen and Michael Lim in 2014, the brand cut its teeth on high-quality swimwear all designed and made in Australia. The womenswear and swimwear on offer in Resort 2018 each hold true to the brand’s core aesthetic and ethos of timelessness and tactility, but stand apart as a true landmark moment in the brand’s stylistic history.
Her Line’s debut womenswear collection is made up of ten modern essentials designed to go the distance, including wrap dresses that double as an open jacket, chic slip dresses, classic a-line skirts, feminine blouses and fluid trousers. Structure and softness are the key ideals at play, drawing upon natural and textural cotton and linen to achieve a light and comfortable feel. On a surface level the collection is understated, but each piece is taken next level with carefully selected hardware and high-quality finishing touches. The latest swimwear drop sees the brand gear towards an increased focus on panelling to create a firm and contoured fit, as well as optional padding for more coverage and support. The four new styles – Marni, Rei, Lily and Suzi – boast a warm and earthy palette of butter yellow, terra brown and lava red.
