Handsom introduces the scholarly lumberjack look for winter

Handsom has delivered an autumn/winter collection that finds a perfect midpoint between the wardrobe of an English scholar and rugged lumberjack. Cloaking gents in shades of navy, forest greens and browns, the new collection pairs quality fabrics of a tonal palette, making the range versatile to layering and wearing various separates together.

The elbow patch makes a comeback this season, featuring in corduroy contrasting rectangular panels against a lumberjack check in modern colour pairings of navy and tan. The elastic tapered ankle on chinos also returns for a second moment in the spotlight, with most pants in the collection ending shorter than usual, exposing ankles (and leaving room for your socks to shine).

Fair Isle-print tees, polos, button-ups and bombers all make an appearance, with the standout item the zipper-front Harrington Jacket made of brushed cotton with a chambray trim. Dapper cable knits and blazers feature alongside more casual sweatshirting pullovers, finding a balance that’s measured yet relaxed. Founded in 2009 by British couple Sam Rush and Henry Allum, the Melbourne-based label can be found online here, with the full gentleman’s lookbook viewable here.
