Forget the flowers – give the gift of sustainable greenery with this cute delivery service

We’re not sure when exactly, but somewhere along the line plants have become the coolest thing. This is awesome for a number of reasons – they’re pretty, they’re good for the planet and horticulture is a really wholesome hobby to have. When gifting someone a gorgeous new green friend, it seems like a bit of a cop-out to have it planted in a pot that won’t break down and swaddled in plastic. Greenery Lane has taken a far more sustainable approach, making your delivery experience as eco as possible by designing a range of growing gifts that do no harm to nature.

When we say that Greenery Lane takes its eco ethos seriously, this isn’t just a throwaway line – creator Mel Briody is going above and beyond to ensure that her products leave nothing but a positive impact on the environment. Since starting the venture in mid-2017 Mel has been conscious of the effect that plastic packaging has on the earth, so she wasted no time working towards making her business clean and green. All Greenery Lane products are 100-percent biodegradable and use no plastic, with Mel pushing her creative boundaries to inspire future businesses to follow in her footsteps.

When it comes to the physical aspects of Greenery Lane, everything is designed and made in Mel’s home studio here in Brisbane. Shoppers can pick up rad gifts for all sorts of occasions (like Mother’s Day, hint hint), as well as the option to order personalised products for special events like weddings, parties or birthdays. Seed paper grow kits come with everything you need to grow a plant, with your choice of oregano, thyme or native daisies and the option to personalise the message on the lid of the box. Also included is an eco pot made by co-operatives in Sri Lanka using coconut husks that were previously discarded, which you can buy separately if you wish. The store also stocks plantable greeting cards – no joke, you can put these bad boys in soil and they will sprout plants!

Keen to embrace the lush life? You can order goodies delivered from Greenery Lane online.
