GoBoat is now setting sail from Breakfast Creek so pack your picnic basket
If you’re a regular stroller of the Riverwalk, you may have spotted a flotilla of shaded grey boats gliding down the water the last few months. These nimble vessels belong to GoBoat, which has been operating from a pop-up dock at Kangaroo Point since April. Now, the electric-boat rental company has found a permanent anchorage at Breakfast Creek, making it easier than ever to hop aboard and enjoy a sun-dappled day out on the water.
From GoBoat’s new permanent location at Breakfast Creek, eager sailors will be able to cruise the Brisbane River on one of the company’s Danish-designed eight-seater boats any day of the week. You and your mates can also bring along a picnic and some drinks to enjoy on the water (we suggest ordering a gourmet basket of goodies from MICA Brasserie), and even your furry friend can come for a sail – yes, GoBoat is pet-friendly too!
Almost anyone can be the captain of a GoBoat and eager yachtsman don’t even need a boat license to steer – they just need to stay sober. Safety is key though, and skippers and their crew will receive a thorough safety briefing and demonstration prior to jumping on board. Water babies can book sessions from one to six hours in length, starting at $109 for one hour, with the price-per-hour decreasing the longer the booking.
