Glycine watches

Let your style soar with Glycine watches

After nearly a century’s worth of expert craftsmanship and quality design, Swiss watchmaker Glycine has finally touched down in Australia. Founded by in Eugène Meylan in Bienne, Switzerland in 1914, Glycine finds a balance between tradition and trend, morphing classicism with modern design.

Under the direction of uncompromising watch engineer Eugène Meylan, Glycine strove for perfection, introducing the world’s first fully functional self-winding watch in 1931. A small innovator in a world of corporate giants, Glycine has maintained its position as an industry leader through a combination of daring and technological expertise. Its classic Incursore design set the trend for large-face watches, which has been replicated ever since.

Brisbane Vintage Watches is now a local stockist of some of the brand’s most popular pieces, including the adventure-ready Combat, a rugged timepiece first released in the 1960s. Also on offer is the iconic Airman timepiece. Created in 1953 in close co-operation with civil and military pilots, the Airman holds a place in design history as the first watch ever produced to feature multiple time-zones – a must have for globetrotters everywhere.
