Charitable eyewear from online boutique Frankie Dean
As glasses have stepped across the threshold from tawdry embarrassment to coveted sartorial accessory, framed fashion has become something of an art form – much to the delight of bespectacled lasses.
While many eye conditions are not noticed until adulthood, these eyesight problems often begin to develop during childhood. In an attempt to help improve the eye health of Australian children, and increase awareness of the importance of eye testing for children, Melbourne-based Giusep Cosentino of Frankie Dean eyewear created the Sight for Schools program. Many children with undiagnosed eye conditions can experience learning difficulties and develop behavioural issues at school, and the initiative aims to provide children in need with free prescription glasses.
Sight for Schools is part of Frankie Dean eyewear, and funds raised from the sale of frames are put towards the program. The online eyewear boutique stocks retro-inspired frames for both men and women and, to solve the conundrum of not being able to try on a pair of frames before making an online purchase, Frankie Dean offers a Home Try On service. As part of the service, a selection of glasses is posted to you so you can try them on before committing to a decision.
