Find Antipodium’s preppy designs at Bessie Head

British suburbia conjures up images of mothers wearing pearls and using their pleasant voices, while husbands and preppy children manage polite smiles.

But it’s the familial disputes that twirl beneath this placid surface that Antipodium designer Geoffrey J. Finch drew on to create the Interiors collection, now available at Bessie Head in Brisbane City.

Inspired by household distress and Woody Allen’s 1978 film of the same name, this slightly androgynous collection showcases beautiful cuts and designs, while something devious bubbles under the surface.

Oversized silk shirting and coats create a stolen-from-dad look while, upon closer inspection, the House Rules dress print depicts cats and dogs fighting. This print and the daffodils of the relaxed Freudian dress were created with coloured markers by artist Miriam Ivanoff, while the Liberty-print patchwork of the Kraftwork dress was produced by artist and quilter Ian Hudley.

Psst … Bessie Head will be relocating to the spruced up Wintergarden in early April.
