In 1995, long before organics really came into vogue, Lel Banks was living on an organic farm and decided to try her hand at making her own organic soaps. After mastering the art of soapmaking, she continued her foray into organic skincare, experimenting with recipes for other products.
As Lel continued to tend organic crops and dabble in her newfound skincare hobby, she noticed how her local ecosystem flourished without chemicals, and the benefits organic ingredients had on her skin.
Today, her range of elly b products has evolved into a complete skincare range produced in the town of Uralla, in northern New South Wales, using recipes Lel has developed during the past 18 years. The range is certified by the Organic Food Chain Australia and includes salt scrubs, cleansers, toners, eye creams and moisturisers, and can be purchased online.
