London calling – Dr. Martens and Lazy Oaf collab to show us what dreams are made of
Some things in life are just a perfect fit – Turner and Hooch, peas and carrots, shoo-bop sha wadda wadda yippity boom de boom … we could go on but we think you catch our drift. When two powerhouses come together to mash their great ideas together it’s like we get treated to a double dose of excellence. Two distinctly Brit-centric brands have come together to create some magic and quite frankly we are living for it – make room in your wardrobe for a piece of paradise born from the Lazy Oaf and Dr. Martens union.
The distinct tough-but-cute aesthetics of both Dr. Martens and Lazy Oaf meant that a collaboration between the two was pretty much inevitable, but surely nobody could have predicted just how awesome it would be. Each brand has gained a loyal following amongst the youth culture for being both irreverent and ever relevant. Lazy Oaf founder Gemma Shiel expressed the sentiment that most of her customers were prone to wearing Docs anyway, with both the ethos and aesthetics of each brand being closely aligned without one taking away from the other.
So, what’s on offer? The strictly limited collection includes three items oozing with both Dr. Martens and Lazy Oaf’s signature style. The first item is a classic black boot with a twist – frill detailing and a heart-shaped front zipper plus white block lettering crawling up the back reading ‘My life is boring’ add a playful edge to the traditionally masculine boot. Next, a black low-rise shoe has been emblazoned with a bright red flock heart pattern and back straps reading ‘Don’t care’, plus lush velvet laces for an extra touch. Finally comes the satchel crafted from Kiev leather with a buckle and removable cross-body strap, sporting the same heart pattern so you can get matchy with it.
