Doggos day out – fur babies are now allowed on Brisbane River ferries
As we humans have struggled our way through isolation, our four-legged friends have lapped up every single second having us home alllll of the time. In fact, it’s entirely possible that they are the only ones on the planet that aren’t relieved about the COVID19 restrictions easing but we have some exciting news for those who like to get out and about with their little mates – as of June 1, you can now take your pupper pal on Brisbane River ferries including CityCats. Now you have no excuse for leaving their cute heads behind.
Every dog owner knows the heartache of having to look into your excited doggo’s eyes and tell them they can’t come with you because they don’t allow dogs. Well, friends, after a successful trial period with the majority of feedback being positive, the decision has been made to make the initiative to allow pet dogs on the ferries permanent – hurrah! There are some rules though – your dog must be on a lead and be wearing a muzzle or be contained within an enclosed carrier at all times, you must both remain outside the ferry cabin and of course, it goes without saying (but we will anyway), you must carry waste bags and clean up after them. There is also a limit of two dogs per person.
Dogs are allowed to travel between 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm to 6:00 am weekdays and all weekend so if you think your pupper pal would enjoy the wind in their fur, take a peek at all of the specific information here as well as detailed information about muzzles and acceptable carriers here.
