Clear your schedule: Disney+ arrives on Aussie screens in November

Disney devotees will go weak at the knees with the announcement that the highly anticipated streaming service will be here before Christmas.

If you grew up on a steady diet of Disney flicks, joined the fantasy party late in the game or need to catch up on all those cultural references ASAP, the news that Disney+ will be exploding onto Australian screens from November 19 will be welcome news. Boasting unlimited downloads of thousands of movies, series and episodes from the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic family, this eagerly awaited streaming service will deliver the goods to your Apple TVs, iPhones, iPads, iPod touches, Android phones and TV devices, Google Chromecast and Chromecast built-in devices, Xbox One consoles, Android-based Sony TVs, PlayStation®4 consoles, Roku® streaming players and Roku TV™ models so you can watch anywhere, anytime.

Check out exclusive never-seen-before original feature films, series, short-form content and docos or bunker down for a Disney-fuelled Christmas holiday bursting with repeat watches of classics like Lady and The Tramp. If you’re not already skipping ahead and signing up for updates, then perhaps the words Moana, Toy Story and Star Wars – or the knowledge that Disney+ will be the exclusive streaming home for films released by The Walt Disney Studios in 2019 and beyond, including Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Aladdin, The Lion King and Frozen 2 – may give you the prod you need. What’s more, Disney+ will launch in tandem with anticipated Star Wars serial The Mandalorian, which just released its first trailer this week. The service will land in New Zealand on the same day, and the US, Canada and the Netherlands on November 12. Disney+ will set you back $8.99AUD per month or $89.99AUD per year. Stay tuned for updates on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, or keep an eye on the live countdown to launch.
