Experiment with Dion Lee’s block colours on Threadbare

When Dion Lee’s standout, futuristic line of fashion glided down the runway for the first time, his fresh, individualistic vision was received with much applause. Artistically tailored, while maintaining equal parts functionality and wearability, Dion’s garments were fashion statements that could be comfortable worn in the everyday.

Renowned for pushing the boundaries while maintaining fluidity in tailoring, Dion Lee’s autumn/winter 2012 diffusion range, Line II, delivers softly tailored, deconstructed workwear and wardrobe essentials in a block colour palette of neons, pastels and tonal black and white. Moving away from his signature androgynous look, adding a touch more femininity to the mix with sheer panelling and plunging backs, Dion has designed a collection that finds the middle ground between cutting-edge structured tailoring and soft-falling, floaty silks.

Placing emphasis on geometric shapes within the design, the collection features soft silk cottons and sheer georgette, adorned with tough custom hardwear and zips. Adjustable elements allow the wearer to play stylist until their unique look is discovered. Match the pleated pinafore dress in neon orange to contrasting fluorescent accessories. Line II is available from Brisbane-based online retailer Threadbare.
