Are you going my way? DiDi launches innovative carpooling service in Brisbane
Once upon a time, if you wanted to go somewhere and didn’t fancy driving, you dialled a 13-number on your landline and then sat idly waiting for an undetermined amount of time for your ride to arrive – it could be five minutes, it could be 45-minutes, nobody knew! Thankfully, things have changed and we’re pretty spoilt for choice when it comes to getting from point A to point B quickly and cost effectively, but just when you thought you had it all figured out, along comes DiDi Share to change the game, again.
Proving that 2020 is indeed the future, DiDi Australia has unveiled its innovative carpooling service that will begin operating from today in select areas in Brisbane. The carpooling service, known as DiDi Share, leverages its existing AI technology to match you with other riders who are heading in the same direction, automatically calculating the preferred route and the order of drop-offs. The benefit is more people, fewer cars and cheaper fares (up to 40-percent off DiDi’s already competitive fare) – hooray for everything!
Presently DiDi Share is only available within selected areas of Brisbane and is limited to rides from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm but there is a wider roll-out strategy pegged for later in the year. Keen to give it a whirl? Simply open the DiDi app and if you are located within a DiDi Share area, you will see an option to choose ‘Share’. You’ll then be prompted to specify the number of seats you require and you’ll be on your merry way in no time. What a time to be alive!
