iPhones suit up in ethically sourced hardwood
Treat your trusty iPhone to a dapper new outfit of black cherry and black walnut.
The familiar sight of the scratched backside of an iPhone might soon be a thing of the past, with the imminent release of the Convoy iPhone cover in October. Perth design studio Madera has conceived a stylish new design that will tempt even the most cynical of techno-phobes. Maintaining an ethical eye, the creatives have sourced wood that’s been harvested in renewable, commercially designated forests in North America – such as black cherry from Ontario and black walnut from Ohio – and united it with elastomer to craft a chic yet durable cover with hidden sim storage for travelling.
The design has been 12 months in the making, with the first lot of Convoy covers now available for pre-order online and shipment later this month. The clever concept is currently only available for the iPhone 5 and 5s, but the designers are working on a version for the iPhone 6 – stay tuned.
