Take a breather at Brisbane’s newest relaxation station Cenote Casa Bathhouse
Whether you’re inundated with work, feel weighed down by life’s general stresses or just feel a bit blah, we all need to take time to unwind sometimes. Enter Cenote Casa Bathhouse – Brisbane’s newest communal bathhouse retreat that invites you to kick back, relax and indulge in a rejuvenating spa experience. Nestled on Stanley Street in Wollongabba, the tranquil, tropical-like venue is inspired by bathhouses from abroad and transports visitors into a state of bliss like no other.
When stepping into the raw brick-laden, vibrant green surrounds that is Cenote Casa Bathhouse, you’ll be forgiven for thinking you’ve stepped into a ritzy Balinese resort. This is the vibe that local gal Brittany Ainsworth was going for when she set out to recreate the lush spa treatments she’d experienced at overseas wellness retreats whilst globetrotting through Asia and Central America. On returning home from her travels, Brittany decided to open her own bathhouse, with an aim to bring Brisbane a lavish wellness experience without the hefty price tag. Brittany has even gone so far to name her newest venture after the natural cave swimming holes she ventured to in Mexico – cenotes. Conceptualising Cenote Casa Bathhouse as a destination for locals to release life’s stresses, she refers to the Woolloongabba bathhouse as a “little slice of heaven”, which offers a variety of relaxing facilities.
Whether you’re eager to catch up with the crew over a quick pamper sesh or you want to treat your other half to a romantic retreat, Cenote Casa Bathhouse is the ideal venue to unwind and soak up relaxing vibes. Sweat out your stresses in the cedar wood sauna, or step into the steam room infused with essential oils to loosen stiff joints and cleanse your skin. Cool down with a dip in the magnesium plunge pool, with benefits ranging from helping to alleviate aches and pains to soothing tired skin, or relieve tensions in the heated hydrotherapy spa. To finish your ultimate relaxation experience, soak in some sun on the lounge with a glass of champagne in hand (if you want to be extra fancy).
Keen to treat yourself? A bathhouse session will set you back just $45 for two hours of full access to Cenote’s facilities, a complimentary spa towel and herbal tea to sip from while you sit back, slow down and enjoy a well-deserved pamper sesh.
Cenote Casa Bathhouse is open Wednesdays to Sundays by appointments only. To make a booking, visit the Cenote Casa Bathhouse website.
