Embrace the bohemian with Camilla’s Gypset

Camilla is the undisputed kaftan queen of the nation, sending droves of women in billowing silks laden with a rainbow of colours onto our streets. Devoted followers will be enamoured with Gypset, the designer’s latest spring/summer 2012 collection, as well as surprised at the new pieces the label has thrown into the mix.

Gypset has been inspired by the jet set – think the likes of Bianca Jagger and Talitha Getty, whose exotic travel and bohemian attitude resulted in a heady wardrobe of soft fabrics, baggy silhouettes and a cacophony of colour. In fact, you could easily imagine either of these fashion forces lounging about in the psychedelic prints and delicate embellishments of the current collection.

While Gypset includes the relaxed items beloved by Queenslanders, it will also include Camilla’s first exploration into other realms of drapery. Pop in to the James Street boutique when Gypset arrives this weekend and you may spy swimwear, jackets, harem pants, mini dresses and jumpsuits – each imprinted with the pattern and fold that is familiar with the brand.

This season, Camilla has also extended the range to include garments for men and little ones – each item bedazzled with the trademark colour and embellishment typical of the label.
