Brew’s Brett Roland releases cyclewear range

From luminous lycra to bib shorts, the scope of cycling apparel spotted across Brisbane is varied and sometimes questionable. Whether the tightly fitting attire was the reason you got into cycling in the first place – or perhaps the reason why you haven’t – a local company has now brought a new range of options to market.

Coffee and cycling have long shared a close connection. Early each morning, hordes of famished cyclists can be seen recharging at espresso bars across the city, and now this relationship has been strengthened further with Brisbane’s Brew Group designing a customised range of cyclewear. Local entrepreneur and cycling enthusiast Brett Roland has teamed up with former Australian Tour de France rider Henk Vogels and one of the world’s leading cycling apparel manufacturers Santini to dream up the ultimate bike rider’s outfit. Lightweight, durable and comfortable, the kit is currently being manufactured in Italy with deliveries expected in August.

Brett has been involved in Brisbane’s cycling community for a number of years, donning the gear himself as well as managing several teams. Inspired by a keen cluster of Brew staff who are passionate about road and mountain-bike racing, Brett took the opportunity to produce a kit that could also help support local Brisbane athletes. The kit can be pre-ordered by emailing [email protected] and online ordering will be available on the Brew website soon. Full kit purchases include a voucher for 10 free coffees from Burnett Lane’s Brew Cafe and Wine Bar or Paddington’s Little Brew.
