Blue & Grae pop-up store to combine workspace and showroom at The Calile
Trot past The Calile Hotel’s retail precinct next month and you’ll discover a magical trove of luxury leather goods being lovingly crafted by the hands of local Brisbane artisans.
James Street has long been home to high-end fashion and exclusive homewares, and now its carefully curated line-up of independent retailers is set to receive a boost with the addition of the very first Blue & Grae pop-up concept store. The local purveyors of handmade leather goods will take up residence underneath The Calile Hotel for the month of August, combining functional workspace with retail showroom in their forward-thinking boutique. Consumers will have the opportunity to witness timeless pieces being constructed by hand using quality Australian leathers, have their selections personalised on the spot and provide measurements for bespoke orders.
Pop into the store between Thursday August 1 and Friday August 30 to witness co-founders Josef Selway (Blue) and Grace Hurworth (Grae) at work. These artisans combine a rare attention to detail with exquisite craftsmanship to produce a luxe range of essential and seasonal leather goods, navigating bags, wallets, laptop sleeves, belts, aprons and keyrings. The pair produce every product themselves, from initial sketch design to final packaging. Pop in to 48 James Street between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday to Saturday or 11:00 am and 4:00 pm Sunday to browse the full Blue & Grae range.
