If you’ve been looking for a good excuse to make some additions to your wardrobe, Bhalo gives you plenty of admirable reasons.

As much as you might love some of your favourite articles of clothing, do you know where they came from? And we’re not talking taking a peek at the ‘MADE IN CHINA’ tag, but, rather, do you know whose hands pieced them together? It’s likely that, in most cases, you wouldn’t be able to answer that question.

Connecting fashion lovers to the origins of their clothing is the inspiration behind ethical clothing brand Bhalo, which creates limited-edition garments in rural Bangladesh using natural hand woven textiles, printing and embroidery. The brand’s new trans-seasonal collection, CREASES, features handwoven and hand-embellished women’s garments that are designed in Australia and are woven and tailored in rural Bangladesh by WFTO Fair Trade certified and socially responsible producers, using 100% azo-free cotton. The collection takes its name from the style of textiles it uses, expressing creases, folds, imperfections and references to raw materials through intricate hand embroidery patterns and bold appliqué graphics.
