Batson launches Robin Hood Garden collection

Brisbane label Batson has cemented its entry into the fashion world with the release of its latest collection, Robin Hood Garden. Inspired by the London gardens of the same name, the garments are a conglomeration of ice-cream-esque colours and breezy shapes.

Brisbane native Bianca Batson created the label in 2011 and remains head designer, but she is no longer based at home, having made the move overseas, following the call of fashion mecca London. Now studying at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, she will still continue to churn out designs for the label. Take a peek at the lookbook and you’ll see the brand’s creations are based around simple but chic garments that embrace femininity. It’s not just all prettiness though – there is a certain amount of cool provided by the use of graphic and digital prints.

Perfect for tackling Queensland’s ever-nearing summer, Batson’s Robin Hood Garden collection is a mix of crop tops, high-waisted skirts and whimsical shorts. The resort edge of each piece is enhanced by the pastel colours used – think mint, purples and a little duck egg blue. Let’s also not forget about the bikinis, which feature simple retro shapes like high-waists, but modernised with prints and frills. For those after the label in Brisbane, Batson is currently stocked at Izabel + Sebastian and Soot.
