Bassike 2014 Resort

bassike unveils resort 2014 collection

Summer-holiday fashion may pull your mind into a vortex of gaudy hibiscus prints and ostentatious colours, but the forthcoming collection from bassike is a chic take on traditional resort wear.

Clean lines, tailored shapes and block colours are the keynotes of bassike’s 2014 summer series. While the label is known for its minimalist approach, the highly anticipated resort range has pared back the designs even further, offering a classic collection of smocks, leather shorts, tailored pants and oversized tees. Quality fabrics keep the garments light and loose, perfect for a sweltering Brisbane summer.

Designers Deborah Sams and Mary Lou Ryan know their strength is in simplicity, and for this collection they’ve teamed the traditional bassike colour combo of black and white with solid blocks of yellow, red and blue. Geometric prints like oversized spots and broad stripes meet structured shapes as well as loose-fitting separates. The new collection will be ready for the taking from October, just in time for the mercury meltdown in Queensland. Keep your eyes peeled on bassike’s online store for updates.
