Let Diddy soothe you into a sweet slumber with a guided meditation from Audible

In these anxiety-inducing times, lucid dreams and the inability to fall asleep easily have become common issues faced by many. Thankfully, the audio entertainment specialists over at Audible are here to help with a new collection of free meditations and bedtime stories featuring some of your favourite celebrities – including hip-hop legend (and former Puff Daddy) Diddy. Yep, you read that right – this is your chance to be led into a deep slumber by the soothing vocal tones of a hip-hop alum who, in the good ol’ days, had you getting down and dirty on the dance floor to ‘Bump, Bump, Bump’.

Set to send you into dreamland faster than a Sleepytime tea, Audible’s newly launched Sleep Collection features Diddy and fellow musician Nick Jonas as well as some other mediation and wellness experts, all in the name of a good night’s sleep. Created in collaboration with Arianna Huffington’s Thrive Global, Audible has enlisted some familiar faces (or rather, voices) to launch ten brand-new original audio experiences, free to everyone until Thursday May 21. An easy addition to anyone’s night-time routine, users can download the programs and set a sleep timer or use their connected devices for hands-free listening. Unlike a typical audiobook, Audible’s Sleep Collection is better described as a selection of short audio experiences (think relaxing meditations, bedtime stories and sound baths) intended to help you chill out and ultimately, get your well-deserved beauty sleep. And let’s be real, that’s all we need in these trying times.

Listeners keen on clocking some quality shut-eye can tune into ‘Honour Yourself: Meditation Guided By Diddy’, which features an ASMR-esque Diddy as he guides weary-eyed folk through a 20-minute-long snooze-fest (no pun intended). Ears will be treated to the soothing sound of Diddy’s soft-spoken voice advising lisetners to “concentrate on feeling calm, feeling relaxed, feeling at peace, feeling heavy” over some relaxing music (no rap verses here, sorry). Joining Diddy on the app is Nick Jonas, who reads a 37-minute-long bedtime story titled The Perfect Swing’, which tells the tale of how two American baseball stars perfected their Hall of Fame strokes. Other voices set to send you dosing off are Arianna Huffington (of The Huffington Post), motivational speaker Gabby Bernstein and meditation guru Jesse Israel.
