There were so many rules to wearing socks or stockings as a student at school. Socks had to be white and not folded or rolled down. Black socks were out of the question. Stockings, however, had to be black. Navy stockings weren’t acceptable, despite the uniform featuring navy. And if you were caught with coloured, lace-topped, striped or textured tootsie covers, it was detention for the day.
Who knew the everyday sock could cause so much trouble? We have a feeling Happy Socks designers Viktor Tell and Mikael Söderlindh must have been super rebellious, colourful-sock wearers as kids to produce a line of hosiery so bright and adventurous.
