Go crate digging for killer wax at A Love Supreme’s new Brisbane City spot

When one of our favourite resources for hard-to-find vinyl disappeared from Winn Lane, we found ourselves asking, “where is the love?” A Love Supreme has returned to us in the form of a new Brisbane City store, stocking a selection of covetable house and electronic records for us to lose our minds over.

It’s been a minute, but once again Brisbane’s die-hard music heads have a home for impeccable hand-picked vinyl from some of Australia’s best producers. A Love Supreme Records is the effortlessly cool spot from the brains (and party starters) behind Apartment and Ben’s Burgers, which operated out of Winn Lane before closing up shop in 2016. Now, the team has reinvigorated the concept, bringing the racks of records to a new spot on level three of Metro Arts. The space, which doubles as the headquarters of the collective’s thriving empire, features a smart and minimalist vibe, with plenty of elbow room for head bopping and frantic vinyl flipping.

A Love Supreme’s concept has remained the same – it’s all about sharing the love. The spot stocks the best in house and electro with a defined focus on Australian output. Artists from across the country are showcased, with a large portion of stock nearly impossible to find elsewhere. Every few weeks new wax arrives, including pre-loved records donated by local DJs and diggers. A Love Supreme is also fostering a community vibe, pushing good music into the hands and ears of curious individuals through listening parties and intimate happenings.

If you have the urge to splurge on some new sounds, A Love Supreme Records is open Monday to Friday. Check out the Stumble Guide for more details.
