2014 Brisbane Racing Carnival kicks off at Ascot
The tracks are being preened and the horses are going through their paces in the lead up to the state’s premier racing event, the 2014 Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival, which kicks off at Ascot this weekend.
Get those dapper threads pressed and your war cries ready, for this Saturday May 10 will see the launch of the 2014 Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival. The Bundaberg Distilling Co. BTC Cup Day will kick-start the festivities, with one of the carnival’s biggest races – the Group 1 weight-for-age Bundaberg Distilling Co. BTC Cup 1200m – boosting heart rates across Brisbane. If the pounding of the hooves as they thunder along the track doesn’t send your adrenalin shooting skywards, then stick around for a performance from dance-floor favourites The Potbelleez from 4:30 pm. Strike the right combination of racewear and you might just be spotted by a member of the Brisbane Racing Club Fashion Committee for the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre Fashions on the Field competition.
The 2014 carnival will see 42 races held across five weeks, with the BTC Cup Day being followed by racedays on May 17, 24, 31 and June 7.
