Westfield Chermside set to turn into a foodie mecca with new dining precinct

First came the fashion, now comes the food. Westfield Chermside is about to hit another home run with the second phase of its redevelopment, which is set to be unveiled on Thursday June 22. This time more than 20 new eateries are coming to what will be Australia’s biggest Westfield – headlined by the arrivals of anticipated eateries Betty’s Burgers, Bin 931 and Bootlegger.

Everyone knows that it’s not a good idea to try on clothes immediately after a heavy feed, which is why Westfield Chermside decided to let us splurge on threads before treating our tastebuds. Following the opening of its stellar new fashion precinct in April, Westfield Chermside has announced the arrival of a huge new dining hub, which will offer a smorgasbord of bites and sips for all tastes. The foodie mecca will surround a brand-new light-filled dome called The Urchin and will serve as the perfect place to drop your shopping bags, rest your over-worked feet and refuel.

The announcement heralds the arrival of some eagerly anticipated eateries, including Sunshine Coast-born burger joint Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co, acclaimed Gold Coast chef Daniel Ridgeway’s new Bin 931 concept, and Sydney restaurateur Tom Chidiac’s Bootlegger. In addition to these heavy hitters, Westfield Chermside will also welcome dining retailers such as Tapworks Bar & Grill, 4Fingers Crispy Chicken, Hermosa by Olé, Motto Motto, The Bavarian, Landmark Yum Cha, Fiery Deli and Kamikaze Teppanyaki. This news has us positively shook with hunger-induced excitement. Be sure to check The Weekend Edition frequently for a closer look at the new arrivals.
