Mark Wahlberg is bringing famed fast-food chain Wahlburgers to Brisbane

We hold the sentiment that burger news is always good news, and boy, have we got an announcement for you! Marky Mark and the tasty bunch (aka Mark Wahlberg and his brothers Paul and Donnie) have just disclosed the tasty goss that they are bringing their family-owned fast-food chain Wahlburgers to Australia. Talk about a sweet sensation.

Known for movies such as The Departed, Ted, Boogie Nights and possibly his most acclaimed film to date The Happening (this scene should have earned this man an Oscar!), Mark Wahlberg has got his fingers in many pies – one being his family’s burger chain, Wahlburgers. Already boasting locations across America, Canada and Germany, plus its own ten-season-strong reality TV show, Wahlburgers has its sights set down under – Mark has just announced that Wahlburgers will be opening more than 20 restaurants across Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and New Zealand from late 2021.

The Oscar-nominated star and one-time Calvin Klein model owns the chain with his two brothers, chef Paul and former New Kids on the Block member Donnie. The close-knit family has signed a deal (worth a whopping $50 million) to partner with the United Cinemas chain. There are 15 movie-themed restaurants set to open within United cinemas’ precincts, with the first location landing in Sydney’s Circular Quay. Brisbane burger lovers will be treated to a taste shortly after when the first Queensland store opens its doors in Indooroopilly. We can’t wait to Dirk Diggler in.
