Victoria Park Bistro turns up the heat with its new rotisserie kitchen
You’re hearing it here first – rotisserie cuisine is back in a big way! It’s no surprise – there isn’t a more alluring sight than catching a glimpse of a gently rotating chicken or pork hunk, sizzling away. The Victoria Park Bistro has just added a new rotisserie element to its already impressive kitchen, plating up lovingly cooked morsels for lunch and dinner that will have tongues wagging and stomachs grumbling.
Pork roasts and slow-cooked chook – few dishes make such fine fare for a Sunday lunch. The savvy minds behind Victoria Park’s bistro know this, and in a stroke of culinary genius have decided to revive the rotisserie. The crew has imported a new rotisserie oven from France – a top-of-the-line machine that ensures juices are sealed in while simultaneously reducing fat. The Victoria Park Rotisserie Kitchen is a dedicated space next to the Victoria Park Pizza Kitchen in the club’s fantastic bistro area.
Once you pull up a chair and start browsing the menu, you’re going to want to seek out the rotisserie portion immediately. You’ve got two options to choose from (that’s all you’ll need, really) fresh from the kitchen. First is a porchetta roast served with caramelised-apple sauce, calvados and sage jus. The second dish is a succulent half free-range chicken roast served with roasting juices. Both dishes come with rotisserie-roasted potatoes and a leafy green salad – a perfect lunch combo if we do say so ourselves.
