Two Trees espresso bar opens in West End

The newest outfit to grace West End’s Vulture Street is woodsy espresso bar Two Trees. Slotting in to what was a simple garage space next to The Happy Cabin, Two Trees opens its doors for the first time this Thursday.

The culmination of three months of planning and design, Two Trees is the creation of young coffee connoisseurs Jordan Lomas and Mim Fergie. Serving Mambo Coffee from other West End native Loading Dock Espresso, and bread and treats from Leavain, Jordan and Mim create a cosy community vibe by supporting local across nourishments and design. Their coffee is made on Maleny Dairies’ organic milk and a local carpenter has handcrafted the front counter and some of the tables from recycled wood.

Decked out with contemporary workers lights, vintage mismatched furniture and astroturf, Two Trees is the outside forest to next door’s inner woodsy cabin aesthetics. The skinny mood-lit interior has an Alice in Wonderland feel, with the roof sloping lower and the room getting skinnier the further back you go. Or take your Tea Craft tea in a pom-pom-topped, tea-cosy-covered teapot in the sunny outdoor patch.

Some of the art and furniture by local artisans that decorates the space will be for sale eventually as well, meaning a constantly changing environment, while we feel the DIY toast station – make your grilled bread the way you like it – will be a keeper. Drop by to meet these espresso entrepreneurs at the opening celebration on Friday night, featuring a few beverages, a few bands and a massive sale at The Happy Cabin next door.
