Tuck into a takeaway feast with newly launched contactless delivery app Tukka

As the coronavirus crisis continues, the majority of local hospitality operators have dramatically changed the way they operate as a way to both follow social-distancing rules and, ultimately, to stay in business. Stepping in to to lend a helping hand, newly launched ordering app Tukka is set to aid the local hospo scene in changing the way it operates in a bid to help flatten the curve of COVID-19 as well as bring a hassle-free dining experience to businesses.

Tukka comes from Gold Coast duo Tyla Hall and Shane Thomas, who developed the easy-to-use app as a way to help Gold Coast businesses transition to contactless – way before there was any mention of the phrase “pandemic”. With the app nearing the final stages of completion, Tyla and Shane have decided to launch the BETA version – just a little bit earlier than expected – to interested businesses at a break-even cost as a way to lend a helping hand during tough times. Tukka has been billed as an inexpensive option for hospo operators in comparison to the other big players in the food-ordering app realm and has been successfully trialled by Burleigh Heads Surf Club in 2019, making way for its originally planned full launch later this year.

The app is straight up simple to use – hungry patrons choose their favourite restaurant through the app, place their order, pay for their meals (with the convenient option to split the bill) and voilà your feast will be ready in no-time. Restaurants can choose to have staff deliver the meal to customers or alternatively you can pick up your order as takeaway.

Stay tuned – Tukka will be launching shortly. Interested venues can register at Tukka’s website.
