Travel x coffee: the hand grinder

The art of travelling well would not be complete without your own hand grinder and aeropress to take along for the journey – especially when you’re wilderness or remote-community bound. For the nomadic specialty coffee drinker, invest in a mini hand grinder from Porlex or Hario, which will pack up neatly in your luggage. Alternatively, if travel is not on the cards but home coffee brewing is a daily ritual, gaze your eye towards the Hario Skerton hand grinder, which uses ceramic conical burrs to produce a range of different grinds. Or to take the bicep burn out of your morning cup, invest in a Delonghi push grinder, which still allows you to select three types of grinds and sits within a similar price range. Alongside coffee, you can also use your hand grinder to turn buckwheat kernels or rice into flour. Instant campfire pancakes.
