Savour a freshly made sweet treat at The Tool Box Chef

Coming from Elk Espresso on the Gold Coast, Sirromet, Restaurant Two and Tukka, Gene Cavalchini has kitchen experience to rival many great chefs. But Gene has had his own business venture on his mind and now supplies freshly made treats to many cafes and restaurants across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The Tool Box Chef is all about cakes, slices, cookies and brownies just like your nanna used to make, homemade and with generous portions. The Tool Box Chef has its own wholesale kitchen at Beenleigh but attends the Kuraby Farmers Market each weekend to test out its creations on delighted market goers.

Standard treats available include lemon or caramel meringue slice, pecan pie brownie, red velvet cheesecake brownie, raspberry cheesecake brownie and a vegan muffin. This market stall’s tables also see regular the appearance of gems like spiced banana bread, peanut butter brownie cookies, pear and berry crumble slice and carrot and zucchini mini cakes.

The short shelf life of these treats is a genuine indication of their lack of artificial flavours and preservatives, and Jene is always keen to chat to market goers about the ingredients in his delicious sweet treats.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Brisbane dining guide with more than 2400 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
