TWE The Staple Store

Tuck in to a bowl of The Staple Store muesli

Born from a passion for wholefoods cooking, The Staple Store is the brainchild of seasoned cook and clinical nautropath Catie Gett. When she founded the brand in 2012, Catie envisioned creating a space that epitomises the nature of health and happiness.

The Staple Store makes gluten-free muesli and a gluten-free superfood granola from organic ingredients like activated and caramelised buckwheat, puffed quinoa and quinoa flakes, crushed pistachios, goji berries, pepitas, sunflower seeds, coconut flakes, chia seeds and toasted almonds. Along with fig and hazelnut breakfast bars and the Berry Bodacious Breakfast Booster – which delivers a hit of antioxidants from a mesh of goji berries, cranberries, coconut flakes, cacao nibs, chia seeds and freeze-dried strawberries – The Staple Store also creates ready-to-be-made meals like the falafel-ish mix that can become a pizza base, Mexican dupuy lentils and dahl soup. There are pre-mixes for love cake, quinoa and walnut cookies, and quinoa and coconut pudding, while homemade almond, cashew and ABC (almond, brazil nut and cashew) butters and loose-leaf teas round out the perfect afternoon treat.

Focusing on local, sustainable, organic and biodynamic products, The Staple Store began its existence as an online store, but has since grown into a tactile offering with the opening a physical shopfront in Ripponlea in Melbourne. The petite shoppe showcases locally sourced, high-quality wholefoods, with bulk options for buying up honey, nuts, seeds, grains, muesli, lentils, agave nectar and tahini. The store is a plastic-bag-free zone, so shoppers will need to stockpile their re-usable bags, jugs and Tupperware to take home these vitalising ingredients. Those not lucky enough to be based within bicycling distance, can continue to find a selection of Catie’s creations online.
