Sample a winning combination in The Hills Cider Hybrid Series
By the time the Ancient Romans had traipsed into the land of Britain, locals had already been fermenting apples into a sturdy alcoholic broth for years. The cloudy liquor has since come to be known as cider, and seen countless transformations throughout the years. The drink has recently found a particularly Australian twist in local creation, The Hills Cider Hybrid Series.
The Hills Cider Hybrid Series is a spicy concoction of apple and ginger, proudly sourced from South Australian and Queensland producers. An unexpected partnership, the sweet taste of hardy apples from the Adelaide Hills work deliciously well with the sharp bite of fresh Queensland ginger – resulting in a refreshing drink with a bit of a spicy aftertaste. Making the drink even tastier is the guarantee that no added flavours, sugars or concentrates have been added to the brew.
Behind the nectar is The Hills Cider Company, a national brewery recognised for particularly delicious traditional cider drinks. Before it arrived in bottleshops in 2010, the brand’s creators were cleverly studying and tweaking the tastes of each drink to perfection. If you are a little bewildered by the idea of a ginger and apple drink, you can stick to the lovely pear and apple cider for which the brand continues to be renowned. The drink is to be sold in limited release at present – you can buy it by the bottle online, or enjoy it on tap at The End.
