Catering to the local folk keen for some healthy, inventive lunchtime choices, The Golden Pig’s cafe is open for breakfast and lunch during the week, serving housemade meals, coffee and cakes. At breakfast there’s fruit plates of poached pears, Greek yoghurt, toasted muesli and rhubarb or fresh fruit, brown sugar yoghurt, mint and pistachio. Lunchtime sees sandwiches of Chinese roast duck or five-spice chicken grace the menu, alongside a tabouli- or quinoa-based salad, while the aroma of tea-smoked salmon fills the air (joined by fresh fig, labneh and roasted walnuts in a salad).

Come Thursday and Friday evenings, The Golden Pig team is hoping locals will take up the chance to relax at the cooking school with a craft beer or glass of wine as jazz croons softly overhead. Patrons can sink back into one of the lounges, find a place at the large tables past the bustling kitchen or admire the greenery from the back deck. A selection of bar eats will also be present at the after-work bar, featuring simple, delectable dishes of smoked almonds, olives roasted in spices, sliced meats and antipasto.
