If you are lactose intolerant, we apologise in advance. If you aren’t lactose intolerant, holy cheesus friend – have you heard the good news? The Cheese Pleaser – one of the most highly sought suppliers of gourmet cheese and legendary cheese toasties – has opened its very own brick-and-mortar location in the Brisbane CBD. That’s right – now you can swing by and sink your teeth into all sorts of cheesy goodness and even build your own hamper to impress company at home.

For the de Kort family, cheese is more than just a passing fancy – it’s a full-blown passion. For the past few years Sharyn and her son Sebastiaan have been sharing the cheese-filled love with like-minded fanatics all around Brisbane, delivering hampers and popping up at local markets as The Cheese Pleaser. Since the very start, Sharyn and Sebastiaan have longed to showcase their love affair with cheese in a shop of their own, and when The Cheese Pleaser started skyrocketing in popularity the team decided to make it happen. Adelaide Street is now the home of the CBD’s first gourmet cheese and smallgoods deli, stocking a curated range of international and local cheeses, meats, caviar and pantry fillers as well as offering some scrumptious meals and Single O coffee to grab and go.

If you’ve ever had the divine pleasure of snacking on one of The Cheese Pleaser’s artisan cheese toasties, you’d better brie-lieve that they’ve got them at the Adelaide Street store. Sink your teeth into a four-cheese sanga, a blue cheese and three-cheese mix with smoked bacon and pear, a three-cheese with jamon and onion jam or a croque monsieur and experience the bliss for yourself. If you want something a little less carb heavy, The Cheese Pleaser also serves the likes of roasted grape and rocket salad with truffle pecorino, oven-roasted cauliflower salad, and confit duck salad – all made fresh to order. The Cheese Pleaser also acts as a pantry for goods that you can incorporate into your home cooking and bits and pieces to up your cheese platter game or add to a gift hamper. Sharyn and Sebastiaan have handpicked the cheeses available, stocking no more than 20 to 30 cheeses at any one time, with all large wheels aged before sale. Expect the selection to vary as Sharyn and Sebastian add new cheeses they adore.
