The Cheeky Bean Espresso Bar opens in West End
When on a roadtrip, where your origin and destination are many hours apart, a small spot of colour among the green and brown landscape can warrant a swivel of the wheel and excited pit stop. Whether an honesty fruit stall, field of canola or random pancake house in the middle of nowhere, these head-turning surprises can keep a route interesting.
That’s how we felt when we stumbled upon The Cheeky Bean Espresso Bar in West End this week. Just a stroll up from the West End Market spot along Montague Road sits this new coffee pit stop. While at the moment only takeaway coffees are available, there’s bench seating out the front to take five, and an upstairs loft space will be opening soon, with phone chargers handy for those in need of a little iPhone juice.
A chilled-out joint at which to read the paper and enjoy a mid-morning pick-me-up, The Cheeky Bean has given purpose to one of the empty shells of Montague Road. Quick bites and snack foods like sandwiches, baguettes and yoghurts are on hand, catering to the office folk who like to pop out for a few rays of sunshine at lunch.
