Chow down on ribs, burgers and wings at Texas Bar n’ Grill’s new Camp Hill location
If you ask any red-blooded carnivore, they’ll tell you that the home of authentic barbecue is Texas. With that said, opening a barbecue joint called Texas Bar n’ Grill puts a lot of pressure on your product, but when that venue opens a second location in Camp Hill you know that it might be doing something right. The new Texas Bar n’ Grill location does justice to the storied lineage of Texas-style barbecue, slow cooking some of the meatiest morsels in town.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of sinking your incisors into some succulent barbecued meat from Texas Bar n’ Grill in East Brisbane, you owe your stomach an apology. Che Turner and Basia Nowak have been churning out the goods from their Mowbray Terrace location for years and have finally answered calls to share the love with a new kiosk location at the Samuel Street retail precinct in Camp Hill. Like any quality barbecue joint, Texas Bar n’ Grill sources its meats fresh from local butchers, while all of the delicious sauces, marinades and the signature liquid cheese (that’s right – liquid cheese) are made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Okay, let’s get to the food. As you are already aware, Texas Bar n’ Grill specialises in American food at its finest. If you’ve come with a serious hunger (the best approach, in our opinion) then you can gorge until you burst on 24-hour slow-cooked barbecue short ribs, Southern-style Mexican catfish and San Antonio-style chicken wings. As if that wasn’t enough, Texas Bar n’ Grill also serves up some seriously stacked burgers. We’re talking char-grilled chicken, pulled pork and steak varieties to get your teeth around. Are you still peckish? Bravo! Fill the gaps with some loaded fries (chilli, cheesy, pulled pork – it’s all gravy, baby) or seven kinds of chicken wings (one for every day of the week). After you grab a napkin to wipe the sauce off of your face, wash down your meal with American craft beer or imported soft drinks such as Dr Pepper or A&W root beer.
