Taco Bell has flipped out and created fried chicken taco shells
Tacos – hand-held morsels of goodness that are, in our humble opinion, the perfect meal, really. We didn’t think that these bad boys could get much better (or more inventive), but that’s where we were wrong. To celebrate International Taco Day, this Sunday October 4, the famed Mexican fast food slingers at Taco Bell have spiced things up in the kitchen and flipped the script, so to say. The result? The Naked Chicken Taco – where the chicken has become the shell.
Remember the age-old question of “which came first, the chicken or the egg?”. Well, in this instance replace “egg” with “taco shell” and you kind of get the gist of where we are going. Undeniably, the taco did come first but Taco Bell’s new meltingly tender chicken creation – the Naked Chicken Taco – has claimed the crown, with the inside of the taco becoming the outside. Yes, that’s right, the chicken is the shell. Made with 100-percent Australian chicken breast that is seasoned and fried golden, the chicken taco shell is filled with a zesty ranch dressing, fresh lettuce, tomato and topped with a mouth-watering layer of cheese.
Drooling with excitement yet? Maybe you’re just a little bit curious about this chaotic creation? This limited-edition item will be available on International Taco Day on Sunday October 4 in participating Taco Bell restaurants across our sunny state and will stick around until Monday October 19. Need more convincing to try this Frankenstein-esque invention? The first 500 people at each restaurant that order a taco on International Taco Day will also score a pair of super cute taco socks, so make haste!
