Street food and long lines no longer go hand in hand. New application, StreetEats, hopes to take the lengthy lines out of the equation so you can enjoy your grub quicker.

Food truck fever has Brisbane in its grasp and will not let go – thankfully, no one is asking it to. The street food craze is here to stay and all over Brisbane foodies are chomping down on a smorgasbord of savoury and sweet goodies. There is only one detractor from having such a popular street food culture in Brisbane: lines. However, this problem may soon be a thing of the past when StreetEats launches this week.

Chris Illuk, Jace Patel and Michael Sive decided to create StreetEats after becoming fed up with the seemingly endless lines at food events. They created this nifty application to let iOS and Android users order and pay for their food with their phone, track their orders and receive notifications on when the food is ready. Users can pay by credit card with zero extra charges or hidden fees, have a wander around the event, skip the queue and grab their order from participating vendors once it is ready. The app is now available to download, and those curious to see how it works can give it a trial at the StreetEats launch event at Thank Truck It’s Thursday – Wandering Cooks‘ weekly food truck evening on April 16.
