Pick up some Malaysian roti delights from Street St Market

Street St Market transports you to the bustling streets of Malaysia with enticing aromas that dance through the air and an endless variety of mind-blowing flavours.

Stephanie Ooi and Julian Lin serve up Malaysian roti in many forms at their Street St Market stall at various markets around Brisbane including Eat Street MarketsSaturday Fresh Market at Rocklea, Eagle Farm Markets, Kelvin Grove Village Market, Red Hill Farmers Market and Carseldine Farmers and Artisan Market.

Stephanie grew up in Kuala Lumpur and enjoying her mum’s curries, and Julian has an Malaysian/Australian background, which inspired the pair to create Street St Market. The initial part-time gig became a full-time love affair of sharing Malaysian roti with Brisbane’s market goers. Influenced by the mamak stalls that have become an integral part of Malaysian food culture in urban areas and where roti can be found 24-hours a day, Street St Market’s menu items all involve the famous roti.

Street St Market serves the likes of murtabak, which is a wrapped roti filled with spiced beef mince, eggs and onion, roti and chicken curry, telur with egg, cheese and onions, as well as an Australian version of roti with ham and cheese. The stall also serves up a sweet breakfast roti kaya with a coconut spread made from pandan essence, coconut cream and palm sugar. Let the sweet and savoury aromas of Malaysian street food draw you through the market and capture your tastebuds this weekend.
