We’re always a fan of supporting local, especially when it comes to what we drink. That’s why when we first heard of Soltera Rum, we were more than a little bit excited to share the new tipple with you. Born and brewed in nano-distillery Cabarita Spirits in, you guessed it, Cabarita Beach, this bottle is more than worthy of a spot in your bar cart.

Amongst the lush scenery of northern New South Wales is where you’ll find nano-distillery Cabarita Spirits, the brainchild of Spanish-born entrepreneur Keri Algar. A lover of adventure and a good drink, Keri travelled the world writing stories before settling in the coastal village of Cabarita, where today she makes rum by the beach (sounds like the good life, right?). In December 2020, Cabarita Spirits released its first – and very limited – batch of its debut spirit Blanco under the Soltera Rum banner.

Handmade from 100-percent natural and local ingredients, Soltera Rum’s Blanco is a lightly spiced, un-aged cane spirit. Whether you’re a fan of daiquiris or mojitos, Blanco is the perfect addition to any homemade cocktail that calls for a dash of rum. Starting small (only 125 bottles were made in the first batch), Keri has plans to release a barrel-aged product in the future so keep your eyes peeled. Keen to start shaking some cocktails from the comforts of home? Soltera Rum is available to to order from the Cabarita Spirits website. Fair warning – Soltera Rum will make you like pina coladas, and if you drink enough, gettin’ caught in the rain.
