Solbevi, Australia’s first canned limoncello spritz, is making its Brisbane debut with a laneway party at Allonda
We know summer hasn’t officially started, but we’re pretty confident we know which drink will be the sip of the season. Local limoncello brand Solbevi has just launched its own range of canned limoncello spritzes, a zesty and refreshing beverage that’s shaping up to be a fixture at barbecues, picnics and poolside hangs. The drink maker is teaming up with Allonda in Newstead to throw a bash to mark the launch. Read on for the fun details …
Got a friend that travelled to the Amalfi Coast this year? If so, they probably came back raving about limoncello spritzes. Limoncello is set to have a big moment in Australia this summer, with several homegrown brands popping up all around the country. So too is limoncello spritz poised to surmount the classic Aperol spritz as our go-to cocktail – but you don’t need to go adding bottles of the lemony liqueur and prosecco to your shopping cart just yet. One crew is making the citrus-infused fun easier to enjoy by putting the effervescent limoncello spritz into an easy-to-drink can. Solbevi, the brainchild of two second-generation Italians, sees a traditional family recipe enhanced using modern mixology techniques, resulting in a refreshing and sessionable sip. Slightly sweet but with a crisp finish (and coming in at a very reasonable 0.8 standard drinks), Solbevi is set to make a splash this barbecue season – but not before it is properly introduced to Brisbane drinkers.
Solbevi is teaming up with chic Euro-inspired restaurant Allonda to throw an afternoon laneway party in celebration of the canned limoncello spritz’s arrival. Allonda head chef Sam Todd is curating an Italian-style menu for the occasion (we’ve heard there will be plenty of cacio e pepe), with the ticket price entitling guests to food and a limoncello spritz on arrival. DJs will be keeping the vibes on point all afternoon long as well, so be sure to wear your dancing shoes.
