Sliders food Brisbane

Where to get your hit of sliders in Brisbane

Once a greasy staple of the American diner, sliders have taken a gourmet step up in the world of late, presented with the likes of slow-cooked pulled pork and kimchi rather than simply sad beef patties with plastic cheese. We scouted a few local eateries serving up the refined miniature burger.

Of a Thursday evening, Laruche in Fortitude Valley hosts its Sliders & Ciders evening from 5:00 pm onwards. Sliders come topped with the likes of black angus beef, chicken and pork. Laruche’s regular food menu also features mini cheeseburgers if you’re feeling slider peckish on other days of the week.

The predominantly American and Mexican flavours on the menu at Shady Palms Cafe & Bar at Stones Corner see an impressive selection of sliders featured. Here the homemade mini brioche buns come topped with pulled pork with kimchi mayo, eggplant and rocket or wagyu beef with provolone, barbecue onions, corn and bell-pepper salsa. There’s also a grilled-cheese number with fried green tomatoes, sweet potato and chipotle mayo for vegetarians.

Tippler’s Tap in Newstead fashions up three varietals of sliders, with a haloumi, portobello mushroom and beetroot marmalade option for vegetarians. The meatier selections include pork belly with caramel star anise, pickled cucumber and coriander or a traditional Chi-town-style beef with cheese, onion and mustard.

Meatball sliders can be found at newly opened Alfredo’s Pizzeria in Fortitude Valley, while Embassy Bar in Brisbane even offers a gluten-free slider option. These can come topped with southern-fried chicken, pulled barbecue pork, grass-fed Byron Bay beef or a chickpea and herb patty and a number of accompanying cheeses and pickled vegetables.
