Shucked Coffee House opens for tapas and cocktails
The trend of coffee houses expanding to serve drinks and tapas come sundown is catching on. Growing from a coffee cart to a cafe to a tapas and wine bar, Brew in Burnett Lane took the leap first, with Foxy Bean in Woolloongabba expanding in the same manner last year as well. Sisco in Spring Hill and Outerspace in Fortitude Valley have too secured liquor licences, so you can enjoy a cold beverage with your lunch.
Now after two years perfecting the combination of good coffee and inventive breakfast and lunch options, Newstead’s Shucked Coffee House is extending its opening hours, transforming into a tapas and cocktail bar on Friday evenings and weekend afternoons.
Officially launching the new sitting this Friday, Shucked will see Lychee Martinis and a Pimm’s cocktail with rose water join the drinks list, with live music gliding through the space from the stencil-lined garage laneway next door. The likes of Wagyu Meatballs, Beer-soaked Pork Belly Skewers and Manchego & Serrano Ham Croquettes will grace the tapas menu. Pop by for tapas on Fridays and weekends from noon, with drinks from 10:00 am every day.
