Stokehouse Q, South Bank

Learn cooking tips from River Quay’s best chefs

They’re the white-suited masterminds behind some of our favourite restaurants, and now the chefs of River Quay will be sharing their culinary secrets at Regional Flavours come July 20–21.

For the first time, the River Quay dining precinct at South Bank will be hosting a free, boutique mini-event away from the bustle of the main Regional Flavours festival. Foodies are invited to join chefs from Stokehouse Q, Cove Bar and DiningAquitaine BrasseriePopolo Italian Kitchen and Bar and The Jetty South Bank for a sneak peek into how the respected kitchens prepare some of their most popular dishes – think snails and steak tartare from Aquitaine and classic Tuscan malfatti from Popolo. Savour ricotta and orange sfogliatelle with chocolate dipping source matched to a glass of Prosecco, or a drool-inducing Appleton rum and cola pork belly slider with a glass of Asahi draught.

MasterChef Australia judge Gary Mehigan will also rattle the pans in a live cooking demonstration at 11:30 am on Saturday July 20, while celebrity chef Poh Ling Yeow will run a demo at 12:30 pm on Sunday July 21 and MC the event over both days. Local jazz music and city views will complete the Regional Flavours River Quay experience. Find the full program and menu online.
